Wordpress Setup
Login to your WordPress blog (http://example.com/wp-admin/) with the username and password you supplied when creating your blog.
From the WordPress dashboard, click on "Posts"
Under the "Hello World! post, click "Delete" (not shown here).
'OK' to confirm delete.
Click "Categories", provide a name in the Category Name text box, click on "Add Category".
Click "Links", select "Delete" from the drop down menu, click the check box in front of the word "Name" (this will put a check in all of the boxes), click the "Apply" button.
'OK' to confirm delete.
Click "Pages", click on the "Edit" link below the About page (not shown here).
Select the text in the text box, the text that reads: This is an example of a WordPress page, you could edit this to put information about yourself or your site so readers know where you are coming from. You can create as many pages like this one or sub-pages as you like and manage all of your content inside of WordPress. Delete the text and replace with something appropriate for the subject of your blog. Click on the "Update Blog" button.
Click on "Settings", change the E-mail address to your email address, and click "Save Changes".
Click on "Writing", change the Size of the post box to 20 lines, change the default category to the category you previously added, click the check box after XML-RPC "Enable the Wordpress, Movable Type, MetaWeblog and Blogger XML-RPC publishing protocols." (you will want this enabled if you want to use your WordPress blog with your Apple IPhone). Click on Save Changes.
Click on "Discussion", change the check box beside Before a comment appears to have the "An administrator must always approve the comment" section checked and the "Comment author must have a previously approved comment" unchecked. Click "Save Changes".
Click on "Privacy", check the box that says "I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Sphere, Technorati) and archivers". Click "Save Changes".
Click on "Permalinks", check the radio button that says "Custom Structure". Copy and paste in "/%postname%/" (without the quotes). Click "Save Changes".
