Login To Your Web Site

Type in the url of your domain, ex - http://www.settingupwordpressblog.com. Your site should look something like this.

Click on the cPanel Login link, ex - http://www.settingupwordpressblog.com/cpanel

An Authentication Required window will pop up. Type your Hostgator username and password that you provided when signing up at Hostgator. Click OK.

This is what your control panel, also referred to as your cPanel, will look like.

Scroll down the page until you find the Fantastico De Luxe button under Software / Services, click on it.

Click on the WordPress link.

Click on the "New Installation" link.

Fill in the information.

Leave the "Install in directory" option blank - this will install WordPress in your root directory (and not a subdirectory).

Add an administrator username and password (don't use "password" as your password). Add an admin nickname, admin email (recommend that you use the email you signed up with), and provide a site name and description.

Click on "Finish installation".

Optionally, you can have these details emailed to you. Click on the administration link to login to your new Wordpress blog, http://example.com/wp-admin/.
