Buy A Domain
Visit Godaddy to register a domain. Start a Domain Name search. Click GO!
Make sure the domain you are interested in is available. If it is available, then click on "Continue to Registration". Otherwise, search for another domain.
Either (1) Select Login to an existing account (this will also populate your registration information), provide your Customer # or Login Name, enter your Password and click "Secure Login" or (2) Create a new Godaddy.com account, provide your information, and click CONTINUE. Use option (2) if you have never purchased a domain or you don't have a Godaddy.com account.
Change Registration Length to 1 yr. Note the link below that says "click here to set nameservers" - you will return to this later after purchasing hosting to change this. Until then, leave the nameservers as is.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on CONTINUE
Click on any "No Thanks" buttons until you reach the Secure Checkout page. On the Secure Checkout page, (1) Review Your Shopping Cart, you should be buying one domain for one year, (2) Select Your Payment Method, typically you have the choice of Credit Card, Credit Card Account on file at Go Daddy, Inc., PayPal, PayPal Account on file at Go Daddy, Inc., or Gift Card(s), and (3) Go Daddy Universal Terms of Service - you can read the Universal Terms of Service and the Domain Registration Agreement by scrolling through the text or clicking on the links to the side that say "Printable Version" - be sure to check the boxes to the side indicating you have read and agree. Click on the Continue With Checkout button.
Fill in your payment details and click "Place Your Order".
You will likely need to fill in an Access Code to continue. Please Enter the Access Code, then click on "VERIFY CODE". You are done with purchasing a domain at Godaddy. Eventually, you will return to Godaddy to change the nameserver for your domain (have your username and password for Godaddy ready).
You will receive an email from Godaddy confirming your order. You will know it is from Godaddy because (1) it says it is from Godaddy and (2) there will be a picture of three people at the top; a male race car driver, a female race car driver, and a racy female :)
